Costa Rica (or Latin America) · 3–5 Year Vision

A different way
of living.

A future vegan village rooted in compassion, community, and connection to the earth. We weren't meant to live this disconnected: from nature, from animals, from each other.

Where humans and animals can thrive together, built, not just imagined.

Three ways to help build this

This is still early. The village doesn't exist yet, but it becomes real through the people willing to help build it now.

What We're Building

Click each piece to see more.

Thoughtfully designed spaces for simple, intentional living in harmony with nature. Capped at 10 homes total, built with natural materials and a light footprint on the land.

A safe haven for rescued farm animals, street dogs, and cats to live freely and heal, with real space to roam, proper shelter, and lifelong care.

Regenerative gardens and food forests grown using permaculture principles, so the soil gets healthier every season instead of depleted.

A dedicated space for meditation, breathwork, and care rituals, built for guests and residents to slow down and reconnect with themselves.

Daily wellness rituals that support the nervous system and physical recovery, open to residents, retreat guests, and volunteers alike.

Wholesome, plant-based meals made with ingredients grown on site where possible. A gathering spot for the community and a small ongoing revenue source for the village.

Fire circles, shared meals, and gathering areas built for real connection, where residents, guests, and volunteers actually get to know each other.

Structured ways to learn, contribute, and reconnect with what matters, from short visits to multi-month volunteer stays once the village is running.

AOHE is more than a dream, it's already in motion. Click any stage to see more.

Mapping out land requirements, budget, and the first partnerships needed before searching for property.

Studying enclosure design, vet access, and intake standards from sanctuaries already doing this work well.

Sketching layouts for tiny homes and shared spaces that stay light on the land.

Building the core team, scouting local partners, and growing a values-aligned community online first.

A Note From Kris

Hey, I'm Kris.

If you're reading this, thank you. It means you care. That alone gives me hope for the world.

I started AOHE because I believe we can live differently: a place where animals are safe, people can heal, and compassion is at the center of everything we do.

This vision didn't come from a business plan. It came from my heart, from a deep knowing that we're meant to live in harmony with each other, with animals, and with the earth.

I can't do this alone. But together, we can build something truly extraordinary.

Thank you for believing in this. Let's build AOHE, together. ♡
